1. Preface
Balijan Sankarjyotil High School, established in the year 1982, is situated at No 2 Balijan village of Golaghat District in Assam. Historically, the Karbi people inhabited in this region from ancient time and they have much more contributions in establishment of the School. Now the region is home to a diverse community. People from various backgrounds now reside here. This region is now known for its tea gardens and rural charm. No 2 Balijan was once considered an educationally backward area, with the local children lacking access to higher education. It was only in 1974 that Balijan Kather Gaon M.E. School was established and eight years later, in 1982, Balijan Sankarjyoti High School was established to provide secondary education to the children in the region.
In 1991, Balijan Sankarjyotil High School was provincialized. Over the decades, the school has grown in size and stature, with various improvements made to its infrastructure, teaching staff, and student resources. However, challenges remain in terms of infrastructure repairs, modern teaching facilities, and increasing community engagement.
The Perspective Plan for 2026-2029 is designed to address these challenges while enhancing the quality of education and ensuring holistic development for all students.
2. Geographical Data :-
Balijan Sankarjyoti High School is located at No 2 Balijan, Golaghat District, in the state of Assam, India. Its geographical coordinates are:

Balijan Sankarjyoti High School: Physical Aspect and Surroundings.
Location: Balijan Sankarjyoti High School is situated at the village of No 2 Balijan, Golaghat,Assam, India.
Physical Aspect:
The school is consist of 8 buildings and allows natural light to flow into classrooms during the morning hours.
1. Main Building:
There are 10 classrooms, two staff rooms, a headmaster's office, a clerk office and a library in the school.
2. Playground and Sports Facilities:
In front of the school,in the west, there is a large playground used to play football, cricket, and other outdoor activities. To the east of the school there is an another small playground where a Basket ball and volleyball court is located.
Surrounding Environment: 1. Natural Surroundings:
The school's surroundings are made picturesque by the tea gardens, paddy fields, tall trees, and charming village houses and shops.
2. Access Roads:
The main road leading to Balijan Sankarjyoti High School approaches from the East and North that connects to Marangi Chariali,Golaghat and Doigrung. Smaller village roads extend to the west and South connecting the school to neighboring hamlets and residential areas.

The mission of Balijan Sankarjyoti High School for the next three years includes:

Becoming a top-performing school in the region by improving academic results and infrastructure.
2. Enhancing the school's digital capacity through infrastructure upgrades and technological advancements.
3. Cultivating a culture of collaborative leadership among staff to enhance school governance and operations.

Goals :
1.Academic Excellence : Secure 100% HSLC pass rates for the next three (3) years ensuring students' future academic and career success by dedicated teaching, timely evaluations, and remedial classes for slow learners.
2. Infrastructure Development : Create an optimal learning environment by upgrading Classrooms with interactive technology, Science and computer laboratories, digital libraries and online resources.
3. Student Development : Provide a comprehensive range of co-scholastic activities to promote students' all round development i.e physical, emotional, and creative growth, including Sports, games, Music, dance, drama ,
Visual arts and crafts, Cultural and literary clubs.
4. Teacher Training: Providing continuous professional development programs for teachers to enhance their skills and keep them updated with modern teaching methods.
Barriers of the School :
Balijan Sankarjyoti High School faces several barriers that are common to many schools in rural and semi- rural regions. The main barriers of the school are--
1. Infrastructure Limitations related to insufficient classrooms, desk-benches etc . Lack of Modern Facilities like well-equipped science and computer labs, a proper auditorium, or smart classrooms.
2. Shortage of teaching staff to teach different subjects i.e Hindi, Assamese and Social Science.
3. Insufficient government funding that restricts the school's ability to invest in modern infrastructure, quality teaching materials, and diverse extracurricular activities.
4.Insufficient Teaching Learning Materials (TLM) like textbooks, lab equipment, computers, and other learning resources .
5. Limited Access to Technology that affecting student's ability to engage with e-learning platforms, digital literacy programs etc.
5. High Dropout Rates and irregular attendance.
6. Limited Parental Engagement and lack of their participation in school events .
7. Slow Implementation of Government Schemes:
Strategies to Overcome These Barriers
1. Infrastructure Development :
a. Classroom Optimization by rearrange existing classrooms to better utilize space and accommodate more students.
b. Conduct basic repairs and ensure that furniture and teaching aids are up-to-date.
c. Set up digital classrooms with projectors, smart board, or even a simple setup with a computer and TV to introduce smart learning.
d. Build additional classrooms by using available government grants or partnerships with NGOs .
e. Modernize science and computer labs with cutting-edge equipment.
f. Enhance STEM facilities through community partnerships.
g. Smart Infrastructure, Aim to fully digitize classrooms with Wi-Fi access, tablets for students, and integration of digital learning platforms.
2.Teacher Recruitment and Training :
a. Teacher training programs arrangement by collaborating with educational NGOs or government programs to provide short-term training in digital education, modern pedagogical techniques, and subject-specific updates.
b.Inviting Guest Lecturers or subject experts from nearby institutions for specialized subjects .
c. Partner with teacher training colleges and universities to arrange teaching internships for student-teachers at the school.
